Information for Volunteer Coaches and Managers
Truro Minor Lacrosse Association requires that all volunteers in contact with minor children submit both a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check prior to the start of the lacrosse season.
Criminal Records Check Procedure:
- Print off the letter stating you are a TMLA volunteer which will allow you to have your Criminal Records Check done at no charge. Truro LAX Volunteer Letter
- Appear at either the Truro Police Station or the Bible Hill detachment of the RCMP and request a Criminal Records Check. Usually these checks take about a week to complete.

You will need to go back to the police station to pick up your completed form. Please provide a copy of your completed Criminal Records Check to Juillene Taylor, Treasurer, Truro Minor Lacrosse Association: bearcatslax@gmail.com
Child Abuse Registry Check Procedure:
- Print off the Child Abuse Registry Form from the link: http://www.gov.ns.ca/coms/families/abuse/ChildAbuseRegister.html
- Send completed form with your ID information to Social Services at the address listed on the form.
- When you receive your CAR completed form, please provide a copy to Juillene Taylor, Treasurer, Truro Minor Lacrosse Association: bearcatslax@gmail.com
